Coaching Rate: $90/ Hour

 Nicolas (Nico) Osseland is a French former pair skater. With his partners, he has won the Junior National title, and earned the silver medal at the Senior level. He competed in several Junior Worlds, European Championships, the Senior Grand Prix, and the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan.

Following his competitive career, Nico earned his Brevet d’Etat d’Educateur Sportif from the INSEP in Paris, France. This degree in instruction of sports allowed him to begin his coaching career as the Head Coach and Skating Director with the Luxembourgish Federation.

Nico has over 18 years of experience in coaching figure skating, hockey, and skating skills. He has coached skaters that have become National gold medalists as well as qualify for the Junior Grand Prix, the European Figure Skating Championships, Junior Worlds, and Worlds. In addition to coaching the elite level skaters, he has coached tots through intermediate level and adult skaters at recreational and competitive levels.

Nico moved to the United States in 2015 to marry his now wife, Victoria, and coaches in the Chicagoland area. While he does coach classes for young skaters at several ice rinks, he enjoys working as a secondary coach with a focus on choreography and spins for singles, pairs, and ice dancers. He also teaches many hockey skaters, working on their skating skills and power.

Nico’s other interests include a Filipino Martial art called Lapunti Arnis de Abanico, where he earned a teacher certification and his black belt. He enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, and loves watching movies.
